Ottawa – A peace ceremony is being held for Peace River First Nation on Monday evening.
It’s the first time this year that the community has had a public celebration for the river.
The First Nation and the Ottawa District School Board have agreed to hold the event to mark the end of school for a special day for the people.
The event is being hosted by the Ottawa-Carleton School Board.
The ceremony is free, but all proceeds will go to the Peace River Initiative.
The ceremony will take place at 9:30 p.m. at the Peace Centre.
