Posted November 19, 2018 06:24:56More than a hundred people were arrested as a stampede broke out at the Peace Valley in the north-east of the state, sparking an evacuation of hundreds.

Police said they were able to trace the identity of the man who led them to his vehicle and arrested him on Tuesday.
The man was released on bail but a further investigation was underway.
Police were unable to confirm whether the man was under the influence of alcohol.
“It was a massive stampede.
People were running from one place to another and in a matter of minutes it was the opposite,” one witness told the ABC.
“A number were trapped under a fence, with no place to go.
They were just going about their business and the whole thing ended up in front of our eyes.”
The man has been identified as a 45-year-old man from the Peace, Peace Valley and Sunshine Coast regions of New South Wales.
Police allege he was driving his vehicle at the height of the incident and is believed to have been driving a silver Nissan Sentra with no plates, with the vehicle still in the park.
Witnesses said the man stopped at the end of a street in the area of Bensham and Stokes before heading east on Bensheath Street.
He stopped in the middle of the road and people were being pushed and pushed and eventually one person was struck by a truck and died.
Police believe a woman was driving the vehicle at that time.
The woman was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
“We believe there may have been other people who were involved in this event, but we are yet to establish that,” Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Macdonald said.
Police are also investigating the possibility that the vehicle that struck the woman was a second vehicle or multiple vehicles.
“Our inquiries are continuing,” Mr Macdonald added.
“One person has been taken into custody and that person is yet to be interviewed.”
