China is becoming the new power in the region, with no country taking a bigger part in the global economy, said Daniel Biermann, director of the China Institute of International Studies at the American University of Beirut.
China’s rapid economic growth, its rapid economic expansion, has been largely driven by investment in its vast natural resources, particularly the country’s massive natural gas reserves, he said.
China is also now developing its first aircraft carrier, a military modernization program, and a new submarine fleet.
China has also become an important player in the Middle East, having become the largest producer of crude oil in the world, according to Bierman, a former State Department official.
China has become the main player in a region where the United States and Iran have often been rivals.
“There is no question that China is rapidly becoming the global power,” Biermans said.
In recent years, Beijing has emerged as a key partner in the Arab world, taking part in Arab-Israeli peace talks.
But its rise has also put it in a conflict with the U.S. in the Persian Gulf, with the United State accusing Beijing of blocking the flow of oil and gas to Iran and blocking its exports to the region.
The United States, which has been a major supporter of Israel’s efforts to build a Jewish state, has said China’s expansion in the Gulf is in violation of international law.
Biermann said China has a long history of meddling in the affairs of other countries, especially in the Asia-Pacific region, and that its behavior is likely to continue.
The new China will be much more aggressive and more aggressive in its pursuit of its geopolitical ambitions, Biers said.
He said China is likely now to focus on what he calls the “China problem.”
“The problem of China in the international arena is that the world is becoming increasingly aware of its growing assertiveness and its increasing power,” he said, referring to China’s rising economic power.
“Its expanding influence has become so pervasive that it has brought the world to the brink of nuclear war.”
China’s foreign minister said Beijing will soon take steps to strengthen its military.
The People’s Liberation Army has announced plans to invest heavily in defense technologies, including the development of new weapons systems, Bijan Zhang said.
Beijing is also expanding its efforts to diversify its military by investing in technology and building new ships.
“We are already preparing for the next stage of our military modernization,” Zhang said in an interview with state media.
Zhang said China would not hesitate to confront the U:S.
“The new military modernization is very important to the world,” Zhang added.
“The new Chinese military will not hesitate in dealing with the new U.A.E. and its allies.”
China has been developing its own nuclear weapons for decades.
At a conference in March, Zhang said China was working to develop a nuclear bomb with the aim of being able to deliver it on time.
